- A chocolate alliance from Dominican Republic & Peru
Are you looking for a bar of exceptional dark chocolate? Valrhona has selected two high-quality cocoas from Peru and the Dominican Republic to create Oriado 60%. With it, you will find the best chocolate made from the best raw materials in the world. Produced from organic farming and certified FairTrade / Max Havelaar, Oriado is a perfect example of Valrhona's ambition to create exceptional cocoa.
- History of the Oriado 60% dark chocolate bar
Created in 2015, Oriado is the visible expression of Valrhona's commitment to a quality product and better traceability of the cocoa chain. For the first time, the origins of the marriage of Grands Crus have been revealed to ensure total transparency.
- Origin of the Oriado 60% dark chocolate bar
Valrhona has developed this dark chocolate for tasting to enrich the aromatic palette of the Mariage de Grands Crus, distinguished by its vanilla sweetness and balance. The cocoa beans used to make this Oriado dark chocolate come from the Dominican Republic (the world's leading producer and exporter of organic cocoa) and Peru (the second largest producer known for its long tradition of cocoa production). For the past ten years, Valrhona has been cultivating terroir and long-lasting relationships with producers in both countries, aiming to create exceptional cocoa, now certified Fairtrade /Max Havelaar and organically grown.
- Tasting advice
Oriado 60% expresses round and powerful notes, which evolve towards aromas of ripe and acidic fruits. It remains, however, the softest of the dark chocolates. Its enveloping vanilla sweetness and not-very-sweet taste will please the smooth and balanced dark amateurs.
- Suggestions of associations
This Oriado dark chocolate goes very well with beet, citrus fruits, or spices such as Sichuan or fleur de sel. When tasted with a strong black espresso, this chocolate will reveal its full aromatic palette. Its balance and vanilla note will allow you to easily associate it with other ingredients such as red fruits, apricots, pear, or the sweetness of caramel or peanut...
